Superman should be at #2. Nothing’s going to be as iconic as Star Wars, but Williams’ theme for Superman is the theme music for an entire GENRE. Every superhero film or TV soundtrack that actually makes an effort (so most of the MCU is disqualified here) owes a debt to Williams’ Superman score. All of them sound at

Yep. Definitely the best of the Williams contributions, for sure.

I said above that Empire Strikes Back is his best total work, but the Superman Theme has to be his best single piece of music. It’s beyond iconic. You could play it for someone who had never hears of Superman and they would still somehow say that’s Superman’s Theme.

The Superman theme might be my favorite Williams piece of music ever. It never ceases to raise my spirits and make me think I could be Superman.

Angel became the better show in the end too.

Angel had a better finale. Better show too.

I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it’s hard to list it as one of the best ever, particularly when the Angel finale is right there.

Angel, “Not Fade Away,” is my personal favorite series finale of all time.

Oscars? Small potatoes. The man deserves a fucking Nobel Prize.

I always play a game of “When will Jimmy James or Bill Lumbergh show up” whenever I start a new series.

This is a fantastic Random Roles with a fantastic actor. I clicked on this hoping Justified and News Radio would be topics, but I have no annoyance or surprise that they are not. Because this man has been in everything, and there is only so much time in his day to cover roles.

And I think people miss out.  Why can’t you love them both?  The cinemtography and acting in HGWMV is exquisite.  It’s a beautiful film all its own, and to call it one of the worst Best Picture winners is a grave disservice.

Just because HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY isn’t CITIZEN KANE doesn’t mean it belongs on a “worst” list. It’s a very charming movie!

Oh I so tire of the drubbing How Green Was My Valley gets, for having the temerity to receive the Academy’s recognition over Citizen Kane.  I can’t even compare the films, because they are so different, but Valley is a marvelous film in its own right, one of John Ford’s very best, and ought to be regarded on its own

I saw Public Enemies in the theater and don’t remember a thing about it. Nothing. Not one scene, not one line of dialogue.

I’m unsure what to think going in to number three. Creed was really good. Creed II was teeeeerrrible.
