It gives you options. It's not like you can't access the camera through your lock screen anymore. This is just a fancy alternative.

The phone will know if it's in your pocket. It will use the same sensor that lets it know if your phone is on your face.

Ah crap I was hoping for an announcement on the 24th. This has really got me on the edge of my seat. As someone who is looking for a great phone for the buck this has got me grinding my teeth. If it can be a better phone then the Nexus 4 at the same price I'm jumping. Otherwise I will probably jump on the Galaxy S 3.
