Nothing Boomer here. Boomers keep their Vettes stock and pristine. Maybe chrome wheels (in a stock style) or a slightly louder exhaust, or occasionally that dumb fake wood stuck on in the cabin. But not this.

Look, Corvettes are without question boomertastic.
However this screams ghetto, not boomer.
An acquaintance of mine and I both think GM is showing these heretofore-unreleased concepts in order to test the waters for a potential Pontiac revival, likely as a sub-brand of Chevrolet (not unlike what they did with the Hummer and GMC). It’d save them having to do a full brand and dealer network launch.
The kink between the rear door and rear quarter is atrocious design. I thought it was bad photoshop in the early teaser images, ugh.
Seller didn’t mention anything about a timing belt replacement (nor water pump, despite Rob’s statement otherwise). It’s ~30k or so overdue, and whiteblocks are definitely interference engines.
NP These are pretty rare (I know, doesn’t = ^$). The 4WD Haldex needs some attention in these. Definitely get a PPI from a “Volvo Guy”. Nice that he’s done the struts. Check the window winders and door latching bits too. These are a nice ride, nice seats, and that lump of iron up front will last with care.
It’s late 70s GM. The alignment of the radio is likely better than it was for the factory one. As for the chrome plating and the like, that would have been flaking off before it got out of Bowling Green.
Don’t worry. It’s probably already sold.
oh jesus CHRIST i am like 5 miles from this thing. somebody talk me out of buying this my wife is gonna kill me
But it seems to have to be said over and over because the Tesla stans continue to deny it.
Making your face the brand identity, and then making “scumbag” your brand, really working out well for Elon and Tesla. Totally worth those billions.
Not a terrible price, but speaking as someone who used to restore these, they aren’t really fit for human occupation. Jaguar design staff must have been shaped different in the 1950s and 1960s than the rest of humanity. The seats, while adjustable, are not really adjustable enough or in the correct directions. The…
I dunno. It occupies a strange space. It’s not concours, but it’s nice enough. I voted ND mostly for the pretentious dealer presentation along with the out-of-state plate.
I’m highly suspicious of any ad for a 540 which doesn’t mention timing chain guides. Either means the owner doesn’t know how important they are or is hiding something.
The rear end isn’t horrible, but I hate every square inch of the rest of it, inside and out. And I even have questionable taste, having been known to admit to liking the current M3.
I gasped in a positive way, I think the interior is amazing.
It’s an article about a car. Owned by a dude famous for “driving” cars in bad movies. And famous for owning a racing team. And famous for dying in a famous car. I’m not sure why this article feels so out of place for you on an automotive blog. Just because it speaks about how he was also famous for having a preference…
