A Factory Five Mk4 Roadster starts at $12,990

It’s a kit Cobra, not sure why the article didn’t mention that (though it is pretty obvious) so while this is not a cheap project it is hardly “fuck you” money.

5% of the going away are due to bad experiences. Like got a Leaf, battery got worse and worse, lots of money to fix and diddly squat in trade in value.

Seriously. I read this somewhere last week and people returning to ICE were apartment dwellers, which is the majority of Californians, which is sort-of mentioned here.

Or they just didn’t like the car. My father in law has a C-Max plug in. He loves it. I love hatchbacks, and considered getting one, but after driving his, I hated it. I ended up with a Honda Insight in 2014. It was fine. Now I’ve gone to a 2020 Mini Cooper Clubman JCW. I got 41mpg avg in a slow ass bottom of the

The highest discontinuance came from Fiat owners at 38% and lowest from Tesla owners at 10%. I’m not surprised. The Fiat 500e had only 84 miles of EPA range and no DC fast charging ability. Tesla has the best public charging network.

Very much the same. We own a home now, but back when I bought my current car we didn’t. I wanted to go EV, but I didn’t have a way to charge it at the apartment. My employer didn’t (still doesn’t) have charging stations at work either. There is a charger at a car dealership that isn’t too far off my route, but who

Agree. Incentive followers and/or those who didn’t full understand the limitations (or extra expense/work of getting chargers at their house). Or they were in an area that just under-delivered on a charging network.

It’s a bummer this will now become a talking point impeding progress of “lots of people tried it and

For the “Plug in” part of the discontinuance, my suspicion is that there’s a fair few Volts mixed in there. As one of the earlier plug ins, it probably had plenty of representation here.

“Clearly the answer is charging needs to become more convenient.”

I’ve said it before, but the charge times are somewhat negligible on fast chargers as many can endure the extra 20-30 minutes on top of normal car fuelling.

First of all, Jalopnik is like 3 days late to this. Ive seen this posted everywhere.

Thank you for not making this a slide show.  I almost skipped all future posts.

Nothing needs to be done. EVs aren’t right for everyone.

Good to see you have a normal article without a slide show.

Texians are smug about every stupid thing concerning their backwards state. They revel in being wrong while imagining that texas is the heart of America. They believe California has a shitty economy that doesn’t even compare to theirs. JFC they elect ted cruz repeatedly.

But see, all that makes way too much sense for our ‘rugged individualist’ leaders... 2022 can’t get here soon enough. My only hope is that enough people remember

Let’s take a step back from the CO detectors not enforced to why these people, even kids, didn’t have to die.

Yeah cause cars coming out of China always test well in crash testing. China has also always been super friendly to foreign countries. /s
