Is it a room or a burial box? If they need to be stored in a place for future access, it is still a ‘room’ that a worker or equipment needs ingress/egress. If it’s just getting locked away to never be touched, it’s no longer in a room and you’re just talking disposal. With how nasty that stuff sounds, will concrete

So what you are saying is that it might be easier to charge my EV than fill a gas tank?

If Trump were still in office, he’d just declare the problem solved in the face of all evidence.

And RJ Scaringe, Herbert Diess, Martin Lundstedt, & Chung Eui-sun

The fact that workers left your industry and don’t want to come back should be a wake up call about your compensation and work environment, not a reason to wring your hands and blame a “driver shortage”.

Even for $70k/year that's a stretch.

This 100%. You can’t keep demanding loyalty and fealty while shitting on people every chance you get. My old job, our team was 37 people strong. They had to lay people off because the company as a whole wasn’t doing great, and had to choose 2 from our team. The executives didn’t talk to the team managers (of which I

Exactly and a great example as well of another field where the employers are trying to drive down wages and then complain about employee shortages so they can bring in H1-Bs and drive down wages further.

Just like ‘there’s a teacher shortage!’ Nope, there’s a shortage of master’s level educated people willing to work for $40K a year while not being given the proper supplies whilst getting shit on constantly.

Do you think truck driving is not a technical skill?

Be willing to hire someone willing to learn and teach them, then. Don’t ask for someone that knows how to do it but only want to pay them $40K a year. I’ll do anything, but if I don’t know how to do it, I’m willing to learn. You need to be willing to teach.

Pay more, train more. The amount of corporations who complain about a shortage of this staff, or that staff, and you ask them about their training schemes and they just shrug. It costs money to learn stuff, not just the money to pay for tuition and training, but money to fund all the regular living costs you still

It’s almost like some kind of cause and effect!

Saw the perfect saying this morning:

Many drivers will come out of retirement for the right price.  These companies will need to up their compensation packages to do it.

Wait, so if you have a shit job you’ve been paying shit wages for and not hiring new people there’s not enough people to do the job when needed?

If I didn’t have a family and a home to take care of trucking would be very enticing. I hear advertisements from some companies that will offer 30% more than I’m making with full benefits and free on the job training to boot! Just a high school diploma and a regular licence to sign up.

I’m sure this news must’ve given Elon Musk a raging boner.

Until the 2" lift and skid plates are a factory option I’m out. ND.

Portable biofuel generator? Is this a euphemism for lighting their farts?
