There are some great set-pieces in there, even if the movie surrounding the action isn't nearly as strong. I think my favorite is probably when the T-Rex comes to the camp because it smells the blood on Julianne Moore's jacket. Just a really nice build-up of tension and then suddenly the dinosaur is chasing everybody.

And then you get that great, sad shot of him staring at the amber on his cane in the helicopter with just a little piano in the background. Quite lovely.

I feel like 'Congo' still holds up as a fun adventure yarn.

I think we all did a double-take when we saw that number.

I generally do as well, though I always feel slightly guilty about it.

"Hey Bulldog" is awesome, too.

The earnestness of the movie really is a strong suit and the best part about it is that it feels completely natural.

I guess? It does seem very vague. If you're not paying much for the service, I can see the initial appeal of "oh, I want to know what music X famous person likes!" but the novelty of that would wear off very, very quickly.

Part of that off-ness might have something to do with the fact that Selina more or less doesn't exist in the episode. All of the side characters are great, obviously, but without her having an active presence in the episode, there's no real focal point and it becomes slightly too top heavy on plot, me thinks.

Of the eight episodes this season, five have been given grades in the B range. I'm all about people having different opinions, but it's still strange to see relatively hum-drum grades given how consistently good this show is on a week-to-week basis.

It's just a mumblecore movie that happens to be set at a dinosaur theme park.

I don't understand why everybody is scoffing at the creation of the hybrid dinosaur. Imagine how much money it would cost to clone one dinosaur, let alone clone a bunch of dinosaurs and care for them in a park setting. How much does the stuff in that lab alone cost? Then how much for security measures, enclosures,

At a certain point, sure, but I don't think the 'Jurassic' series has reached that point—the concept of the new movie (park open etc) hasn't been tried in any of the previous films, and it's not like the idea is an example of a series running dry on concepts. Of course, once this movie is released and they start

The music section is fine for what it is (I guess?), but when you compare it to AVC's coverage of film or television, it looks like a nerdy little brother who's never able to catch the invite to the mall.

I thought that, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who came away confused.

I just spent a minute chuckling merely by reading the words again. Richard had best never leave this show.

'Jurassic Park' is a pretty good distillation of what Crichton did well. The dinosaur mayhem is swell, but I think the best part about the book is the nice, slow set-up. Sort of eerie at the beginning and it takes its time building things up.

Cavs-Warriors has a potential to be a really fun series if Irving can get healthy.

Slow news day?

Mike made a huge mistake at the auction and in the subsequent way that he outed Rodney's sub-alliance in front of the entire tribe, but at least some of the digging-of-grave had to do with the fact that Sierra and Dan completely dismissed information that was 100% accurate. Of course, it's Mike's bad not to come to
