Mike is a legitimately delightful character. He balances his more dumbass qualities with observant gameplay and he eats termites while climbing trees with perfect balance. Take his idol. There is no reason whatsoever that Mike should have an idol right now, but he does, because he's good at the game.

I like that, Tier Tyler. I think he's smart and astute, but my guess is that he's slightly too clinical to make the moves he has to move to dismantle the BC alliance once it gets down to that (I'm assuming it does at some point).

The problem is that even if she votes Dan, it doesn't matter unless Tyler or Carolyn change their votes, too. I'm guessing that she knew where their heads were at.

I would have taken (outside the box) Mike instead of Shirin. Mike respects people who get shit done. There are pitches you can make to him. I think it's less sad emotions and the fact that she has to spend time around people like Dan and Rodney. Imagine having to live with those people on an island. You could be the greatest strategic player ever and still want to hurl yourself from one of those trees that Mike was climbing effortlessly.

My uninformed guess would be that when they're betting on the DD's, they're afraid of falling too far behind, whereas on FJ, there's the possibility that even with a smart wager, it "might not be enough" and they're more willing to throw caution to the wind.
