Yeah, jump scares aren't enjoyable. You can scare a viewer without swinging a hammer an inch from their face.

I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't do anything for me. I'm not one of those "ewwwwwww, found footage" people either, as I have a guilty pleasure for the genre. I don't know why 'Willow Creek' didn't click. It should have been absolutely up my alley.

I loved 'House of the Devil' and was more meh on 'The Innkeepers.' I know some peeps are reverse of me on that.

My reaction was basically, "Oh thank God, it's just ghost children." Up until then I was probably on the verge of heart attack. Horror is such a strange genre in that you get so, so many films that slaughter the setup and then botch the ending. This is known as Stephen King Syndrome. For me, if a horror movie can keep

The first 60% or so of 'Sinister' unnerved me like nothing else. I can't remember another horror film that made me feel palpably uncomfortable like that. I had to pause the thing to turn on the lights and get a smoke midway through. I watch a ton of horror movies and think I'm pretty steely to these things, but I

It's not the horror game-changer some were making it out to be, but there's nothing wrong with a solidly-made throwback spooker. I watched it after it had been in the theaters for a while and the hype had died down. Taking it for what it is, rather than what everybody was trying to push it as, helps the film, I think.

Me, too! All I know is it's getting rave reviews. I haven't even watched the trailer and I'm trying not to know anything going in.

I think we're currently in an upswing. Not in mainstream horror, which is still pretty sketchy. When you dig below the surface, though, there are a lot of good little chillers out there being made by directors who are actually competent and trying to do interesting things within the genre.

'Oculus' is one of those movies that seems to have a pretty even split between "loved it" and "hated it." I fall in the former camp. Some elements didn't work, but I've always been a sucker for horror films that take something, try to logically and systemically break it down, and then have all hell break loose. The

He did suck in that challenge, but I don't recall him having much issue in the first challenge—one that was arguably more physical.

Just a hunch mostly. They clearly respect each other, with Shirin going as far as to say she "loved" Max, they're both superfans, they have that weirdo nudity bond. As for the Carolyn thing, she already rallied around Shirin last week to some extent. I know she showed the idol to Tyler, not Max or Shirin, but if I

I went with Truman. In retrospect, I should have been able to course-correct before closing time. My response says less about my knowledge of Presidents and more about the way time plays tricks on the brain. Sometimes, I forget that it's 2015 and not say, 2007. Our leaders now have birth dates in the 1960's. Same

Yeah, this is definitely one of the more likable kiddie table alliances. Usually they just come across as being completely removed from reality.

Nina asked Will because she had told Vince that she would. It's just that a whole bunch of other stuff happened before she asked him. Her problem wasn't even asking, I think, it's how she went about it. So, so unsubtle. There are a million different ways to ask somebody how they're faring without asking, "How's your

The problem for Joe was that no matter what he said, Vince was going to continue to feel threatened.

What an enjoyable episode. I was 99% certain Jenn would be voted out, thus breaking America's heart. Kudos to Will for allowing our hearts to continue to beat. It would have been easy enough for Nina to ask how Will was feeling without doing it so awkwardly and abruptly. Instead, she drops it in a complete non

I would bury my 'Jurassic Park' toys, pretend that I had forgotten where I buried them, then dig them up and act like they had been there for millions of years. Paleontology at its finest.

My blatant cheating aside, that was a really fun game. I thought Alvin was dead in the water.

I'm not quite sure, either, but I know it bares little resemblance to a man staring sadly at a keyboard.

I cheated on FJ and felt like a horrible human being. That being said, I correctly responded.
