Exactly, but the important piece is the “learned to do it correctly”.

You ever think that they were possibly protecting you. All these accusations that they had some evil ulterior motive for surrounding the car.

As a member of the Bovine Defense League, part of the American Cattlemen Association, I unilaterally condemn your libelous attack on docile bovines. Traditional ‘curiosity mobbing’ by the species is an entirely pacifistic act, and can nor should it be construed as an act of aggression. As with so many of these

Man, when my sister and I were kids, our folks would leave us in the car all the time. Only for like 10-15 at most, always with the car running and locked, and I was watching her because I was the older one. I’m not even sure you can do that anymore without somebody calling the cops.

Why take the unnecessary risk? Just take your kid with you. Is your kid not worth those few extra seconds of time?

It can definitely be done safely. The problem is that a sizable portion of the population is really dumb. “I survived it” is a also a very poor argument.

I stayed in the car many times as a kid, and let me tell you it was far preferable sitting in the car playing with legos, drawing or reading a book than being drug into and out of every stupid store with mom. Of course there are limits, the child’s age and length of the stop should play some part.

Torch growing up in a Beetle explains everything. Literally EVERYTHING.

OK, now this may sound crazy but hear me out:

In terms of size, a Polo GTI would be a better comparison. Here in the UK, the Polo GTI starts at £18,900, while a Golf GTI starts at £27,500. The Polo is a little over 2/3s the price of the Golf. Of course the Golf is better specced, but still. Assuming that ratio would stay if the Polo were available in the US

Look at this way even a base model Golf for $18k would outperform the old GTI while being much safer.

Have you driven one? It’s brilliant.

I’m going to be a terrible jerk here, but penultimate means “second-to-last.”

In safety you get 500% more car. ABS, ESP, traction control, brake assist, lots of airbags, a superior deformable body. Does being alive and in most cases without serious injury worth to you that extra 20%?

Perhaps it’s the ubiquity of its competition, the Prius, but I never seem to remember that the current generation Insight is a car until I see one. They’ve somehow managed to make a car that’s more boring than a 2012 Civic.

I’ve had this happen to me with video games lately. I built a $1,400 gaming pc and played iRacing a bunch. Then I bought my FR-S and have hardly played any games on it in nearly a year. I also bought an Xbox One to play online with my cousin and enjoy some of the new games that have come out, but whenever I turn it on

The last 2 lines are cut off, they say “8 Cylinders” and “Winner” Both have orange dots for the 2005.

I’m addicted to this site......Foxtrot Alpha is my “Homer’s doughnuts”. Mmmm.......Foxtrot.

Also, I took my wife for a test drive in one and she hated it, which makes me think it’s perfect!
