You might be surprised by Ann. She still sings the same songs in the same key and doesn't miss notes.

Check out Cities Burning from one of their 80s albums, not sure which one. That was some serious Nancy shredding, much of it on acoustic. Makes my arm hurt listening to it.

Love me some Heart but These Dreams sounded like an outtake from a high school musical. Just my opinion of course!

Sacrilege! How can anyone despise Zep?

Haven't heard their recent albums in full, but the couple of songs I've heard were great. Might need to download some newer stuff. Any recommendations?

Love Nancy to death but I have yet to hear her sing lead on anything that was decent. I didn't care for These Dreams (elevator music) and the hit they had off of Bad Animals with her singing was downright awful. Just my opinion, but they need to let her play guitar/look nice and leave the singing to Ann.

I disagree about it being dull. I thought it was pretty damn cool. Especially the Moog and synthesizers. Straight from the pages of Pink Floyd.

Funny you say that. When I was a kid Magic Man and a song by Helen Ready called Angie Baby were out around the same time and both creeped me out.

I don't really buy it that they went all ballady just because Fisher left. Fisher had his own band in the late 80s/early 90s called Alias, and their big hit was a song called "More Than Words Can Say" that sounded just like an 80's Heart power ballad except it was even more whiny and wimpy.

I liked some of their 80s output as well, but to me These Dreams was the epitome of sell out (that and the song Nancy sang from their Bad Animals album, the name escapes me. Generic 80s pop rock). To me These Dreams sounded like something you'd hear at a high school choir concert.

Yeah Benatar is good too, but having seen both live at some point over the last 5 years there's not much of a comparison IMO. Ann still hits the notes, still snarls, but at the same time can still sing Dreamboat Annie with the same tenderness as Karen Carpenter. Benatar just isn't that versatile I don't think. Just

Looks like the music part of it was a cover, but the song itself was totally different before Heart got it. Same melody but none of the twisted lyrics of Heart's version: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

They had some great 80s and 90s stuff, but you never heard it because all the record company wanted from them was power ballads. Some of their album cuts like City's Burning, The Wolf, Bad Animals, Wait for An Answer, Wild Child, Black on Black, Rage, and several more stand up well against any of their 70s output.

Meh, her voice is awesome. Doesn't matter if she's fat or not. She's probably the best female rock voice ever.

Agree. You think it's some nice happy song then it's like getting punched in the face when you listen to the lyrics.

I read that Ann Wilson refuses to this day to sing the song about the hitchhiker because she says "it grosses (her) out". She also said that Mutt Lange wrote it, and part of his contract with Capitol records said that if they used one if his songs it had to be the first single release from an album. The band itself

Dog and Butterfly is probably right along side Little Queen as the best Heart album ever. Ever heard "Mistral Wind" or "Straight On"?
