Damn... I saw that header image and my first thought was, “Yes! T-tops are back.”

When the answer is not Miata, it’s Matrix/Vibe.

$500, really? I’m so happy it’s 1500 miles away. This would be a hell of a thing to try to explain to my wife...

Judas Priest for me, but hell yeah...

Can Am racer, always. And a ballpoint pen works best for adding the details.

You know, I never really had any desire to get into motorcycles. Probably because I grew up in and around tiny little sports cars, and they’re exposed-feeling enough. Though probably no safer, if I’m being honest.

No roof I can handle, but can I at least have a little bit of a windscreen? Just enough so that I don’t need to wear a full-face helmet just to go for a Sunday drive?

Yeah, I’m sure this is a way to avoid the ire of Joe Bob Taxpayer, in one way or another. Otherwise they’ll have to keep trying to explain them.

It’s a VVVV-24. You should see the gearbox that connects all the crankshafts together.

Reverse: I had an ‘87 Chevy Nova that came out of the NUMMI plant, one of the rare hatchbacks. Bought it used for cheap in the late ‘90s. Ugly as sin, but not a bad little car at all, and I drove the wheels off it. I had it for a year, and I think I put 50,000 miles on it in that time. It had a leaky axle seal that I

I like it, but I know me: I’d be reconfiguring the dash for a road trip, luggage and dashboard modules strewn about the garage floor, going, “Where the hell is the speedometer? It was JUST HERE!”

I wish we could get the Dacia line over here. That would indeed be “Good News.”

From what I understand, the 3-cylinders are incredibly easy to overhaul, so it’s easy to keep them on the road. And the rest of the car holds up just fine, so yeah, there are a surprising number of them still around.

I’d be interested to know more about that 800cc/manual version... but even this would be great! Small, straightforward, and honest. And in reality, even as it sits, tons safer in a crash than any of my cars, or any of yours for that matter...

The front end actually looks a lot better. Still not good, but better. So that’s something.

I guess I’m not surprised. The take rate was practically nil even when they sold thme here. And their automatics are very good, and well-suited to their cars.

“I bet that baby handles like it’s on rails...”

In 2006 I made a really dumb mistake, car-wise... I traded a white 2002 Mazda Protege DX 5-speed (the only new car I ever bought) for an automatic Ford Focus ZX3 (in screaming yellow, no less). I was tired of driving a stick in LA traffic. I’ve regretted it ever since... I loved that Mazda.

At this point, you should almost start making up stories and asking them to comment...

“To boldly go where no one has gone before...”
