I believe the early Roadsters had actual 2-speed gearboxes on them. They went to direct drive later in production.

I gotta say, that GT3 looked capable of passing the GT several times. It almost appeared he purposefully stayed behind him. I’m guessing this comes down to the drivers as the GT seems like it could go much faster.
