Video calling is so frustrating. It feels like Skype will never provide flawless calls. We could have terabits of bandwidth and a 720p call will still stutter.

Regarding: cheapness, I’m curious what additional licensing they’d be able to negotiate if they weren’t investing so much in original content (e.g. Chris Rock).

This is why I’ve been building my Ultraviolet/Disney collection and using Vudu. It’s not free (I buy codes for much cheaper than retail discs), but the best long term solution for me right now.

‘looking forward to my Premiere+. I would not have bought it but I don’t think Amazon will ever add Cast support for video and that’s the only baked in option in my Vizio M70-D3

For video, if you can find a DVD+VHS combo deck that transfers on craigslist or thrift stores like goodwill, they are great. You don’t have to baby sit the capture and worry about audio sync issues as much. Just load the VHS and blank DVD and start the transfer feature and return later.

It can get pretty expensive if you don’t share/split costs.
