A simple solution for some of these concerns is using a different device for travel. I use my old cell phone exclusively for this purpose. It’s linked to my junk email account, has all the basic apps, and works anywhere due to it being an unlocked GSM phone. If it was lost, stolen, or hacked I wouldn’t care.

The #1 reason I don’t use hangouts is because I can’t sign into an alternate account. I have a “work” account and a “personal” account. It’d be nice to be able to talk to my friends when I’m at work.

On my previous router, I flashed a new firmware to add more DDNS providers. The existing options were all pay services and it’s just silly to pay $5 a month for DDNS.

I was on the latest iOS8 release. I’ve turned off nearly every feature of iOS9 and it is running a bit more like normal now.

Recently put ios9 on my ipad air. Not a good idea. It is noticeably slower. Even had to reboot it the other day because chrome had slowed to a crawl.
