If Zack Snyder passionately cared about these characters, then he wouldn’t have consistently made choices that ran counter to the values of the comics. Choices made solely to provoke, for no good reason. Killing Jimmy Olsen in BvS when any nameless CIA goon could have filled in that role. Pairing a naive and clueless

Well, mostly kid-friendly. There’s the part where a guy is brutally torn apart by a demon.

I agree that it was better than Thor, and that it also set out what it intended to do for the most part, and was family friendly, yes.

Snyder specifically cared very deeply about his weird, murderous, Watchmen-y versions of them.  I dunno if they want to keep pushing forward with a guy who thinks the height of artistic directing is lots of slo-mo and a black and white version.

The character is just so boring. He’s also the weak link in Doom Patrol. I guess you could lean into the body horror and PTSD aspects, but there’s not much to wring out of him. More suited to action figures than drama. Cyborg would be a fun retro video game, I bet.

I ask this sincerely as someone who was always a far bigger DC fan than Marvel... until Marvel Studios came along — How so?

I really thought they were turning the corner with Shazam. It was so much fun.

Chris Chibnall, I think, cares a great deal about Doctor Who and his tenure as showrunner has been (IMO) an absolute debacle, wasting not only Jodie Whittaker but also Bradley Walsh, not to mention squandering most/much of the goodwill built up prior to his arrival.

I care about these characters.

This would be the same number of superheroes, though.

If you want more movies like Joker, then let me go make a Mad Hatter movie!!

It’s pretty simple but they refuse to do it on a large scale. Give the reins to people who understand and care about the characters. Marvel did it. DC rarely does.

While you’re not wrong, I would make a counter-argument that Loki’s third episode is MUCH better when binging the show, rather than having a week to have it sit there. I just re-watched the entire series in a couple of days and was impressed at how much better it ALL plays when watched like that. The extra week did

Dave Foley looks like he lost weight too.
They got into fightin’ shape for this series.

Now these are the Dave's I know I know...

Am I crazy or do they look more like their old selves than they have in years? Maybe it’s the familiarity of returning characters?

I like how if you look at the “Oscar Isaac” credits image, his face is actually split into three faces, matching up with that hint of a third personality in the episode.

Thanks for letting us know

Look...I hear you. The complaints are valid.

such a good episode. Oscar Isaac’s performance is magnetic. the way he flipped his body language back and forth in the trial scene between Marc and Khonshu was an extraordinary piece of physical acting, same with that one-scene transition from Marc to Steven. some of the coolest visuals in the MCU in years, too,
