While it's a fine song, my money is on "Take the Cash." To be fair, he gets a little bit fancy by rolling out a third chord, but that A sure sets up the hook. It's a really fun song to play.

Fuck this shit.
Wreckless Eric, "Take the Cash"
Fortunately, "the brand survives." Thank goodness for that.
I thought we recently established that they're called trash pandas?
I think the "*very* tiring" aspect that you pick up on (and I agree with) has to do with the production. It's really scooped and compressed. So much so that the kick is frequently hard to discern (although not in this case). It works great on slower tempo songs, but when they pick up the tempo they move a lot of air,…
I think it's the bass lines that give it that "weird, slinky sense of fun." The bass line in the first section really plods along, but it develops quickly and it's full-bore swinging the second time around. Bowie is pretty good at that bass stuff.
Uh, you should hear his version of Louie Louie.
Because he's the Frankfurt School's cranky old uncle that liked to fight with Karl Popper at Thanksgiving dinner. Besides, lensing the AV Club through the Culture Industry thesis is gobs o' fun.
Or maybe Richard Wagner? I can't help but think that Wagner would approve of Tonight, Tonight.
I can see that. An acoustic set puts the focus on her voice. As a band with their standard rig, though, it makes sense. Check out their KEXP set. This band knows what the pocket is and they're not afraid to use it. They actually made butts move in Seattle.
