I’ve had precisely one visitor leave their shoes on in my home. She was American. I thought it was really strange and kinda rude, since it was winter and she had been walking through the snow to get to my door.

I’m Canadian. I had an American friend visit me in January a few years ago. She left her shoes, that she had been trudging through the snow in, on when she came into my carpeted home. It was so weird. 

Or slippers.
