I am a weird rule-following person, and I was a very literal child, so I didn’t read Seventeen growing up because I literally thought it was only for seventeen-year-olds. And by the time I was that age I had no interest. I didn’t clue in for years that Seventeen is actually aimed at much younger girls.

Every year I obsessively hunt for a two-piece suit that has shorts for the bottom. For myself! One that isn’t a tankini and comes in something other than solid black. I don’t understand why I can find 400 different “swim skirt” bottoms but only 3 swim shorts in black, gray, or navy.

I’d be okay with a functional guide to swimwear for changing bodies. Like:

unlimited beer and wing night at 19 ummmmmmmm 21 years old. sigh...fuzzy memories

Oh indeed. Don’t even get me started on the people who so very zealously advocate for reproductive choice and bodily autonomy - until it’s a less-than-wealthy woman choosing to have a child. Then suddenly it’s all, “well, it’s really more of a reproductive privilege than a reproductive right....”
