Oh, yeah, the movie was very popular indeed but interestingly not as popular as Elite Squad 2.

It was a very controversial movie in Brazil, actually, with half the critics and a good part of the general audience calling the first film conservative, reactionary or fascist, so I believe that made it more palatable for the critics in Brazil primarily.

Regarding Lord Julian marrying Lola but not Greer, I think it's because Greer was a public affair that seemed to have the whole court gossiping about, while Lola, even though it has potential to be a lot worse if that cat is ever out of the bag, no one knows about it, so no reputations ruined. They can always go away…

Olivia's face on that scene reminded me a lot of Buffy's face at the end of BTVS S5 "Spiral", I thought she would actually enter a catatonic state as Buffy later did on "Weight of the World"
