It is a...special place, isn’t it?

I respect the fuck out of this, though I’d personally sub in Waffle House (aka my happy place).

I live within walking distance of the world’s bougiest Giant, and sometimes I go on Friday nights for my shopping just because I know they’ll have a jazz trio playing over by the draft beer section (because I live in DC and my neighborhood is white as fuck).

I feel you on working from home—I’m a full-time grad student (though I work part-time as a research assistant, we only meet up once a week). So apart from class, I don’t technically have to leave my house most days.

That is so true, and it can be really lovely. I suppose for me, the issue is letting that be a conscious choice, and not just a slide into self-neglect (that usually accompanies my neglecting school/research assignments). But your weekends sound cozy af, so respect.

What an interesting interview! This year is the first time that I am living fully alone—no family, and no roommates either. I enjoy it, but there are also times when I struggle to treat myself with the same respect I showed other people I lived with: to keep the house tidy, or to get up and dressed and going, that

I’m in!

Please post a link to your work in the next SNS so we can all check it out—I’d really love to see this thing becoming a reality!

I am completely and utterly here for Demelza finally getting hers. Ross is The Worst (and don’t get me wrong, George sucks too but DAMN), and I am sick of him trying to Batman away poverty instead of actually using his privileges to enact some sort of structural change that might genuinely benefit people.

Bingo!

Ooh, true! I had figured that even if they weren’t technically tall enough, the fact that their heights were similar could work. But I am a big fan of Jamie Chung, so I would be happy to see her in more things.

Alright, fantasy casting: who plays these two in the amazing based-on-a-true-story rom com we all need? I’m going with Keiko Agena for Julie and Ellen Page as Caroline.

I would SO LOVE for The Tale of Orpheo’s Curse to be the story they used for the movie. It was terrifying! The ghost of the stabbed homeless man who died in the knife-throwing accident? Yeesh!

Please make this into the graphic novel of my dreams.

No need to apologize for getting political! It has real consequences for our lives. But hooray for internet strangers supporting each other. Happy World Kindness Day!

True, but much like Agent Mulder, I want to believe!

I am so sorry that happened to you. I hope you are safe and happy now. I have my own experiences that I prefer not to think about, and this whole thing has made for a rough few weeks. Be gentle with yourself. We’re here for you.

Men are trash.

Oh, it was so good! I think they could recast—I’m assuming he was going to play the wrongfully-executed brother (he looks too skeevy to play the scientist).

Yes! And the most recent “Ordeal By Innocence” adaptation had Jane Seymour and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (in a role that was TOO SMALL and I need her in more things, please?)
