There was a moment where I thought Harrison was going to do a “this is too messed up, i’m not like Dad” turn as Dexter was carving up what was left of Kurt, but sadly, the writers didn’t take that chance.

Well looks like I was wrong about Olsen unless they plan a last minute twist to set up a new season. Honestly it seems like they forgot about him entirely. Definitely feels like something got cut from the plan for the season - winder if it was a causality of covid or some other issue.
I guess the question is if they’re setting up a Harrison sequel series or not. Him killing Dexter by “the code” (probably because of the, ugh, podcaster uncovering whatever) then Dexter becomes the Harrison’s own nagging ghost seems like where this is heading to me. Or at least that’s what most shows would do, Dexter h…
I think that there are a lot of series where the ‘big bad’ is defeated in the penultimate episode, and then the last episode is repercussion time/setup for next season. But yeah, Mr. Krabs went down pretty quickly for the great villain he was being set up as.
OK episode, I agree with the “B” rating, mostly because of the scenes with MCH and Jack Alcott.
“Twitter is not real life” is spot-on as far as most Potter fans are concerned. I expect most are either completely unaware of Rowling’s personal positions regarding trans people, and few of those who do care much. Not giving her a pass, but almost certainly true.
As someone who grew up with the books, grew up with the films there’s nothing I find less appealing than my generation’s still absurd attachment to this stuff.
Because it’s hers. That’s the simple answer. She created it, it’s her intellectual property, she owns the rights to it, and she’s still alive. Until she sells her rights in entirety or dies, nothing — nothing — happens in Harry Potterland without either JK Rowling’s blessing or JK Rowling getting a big fat check out…
I unironically love listening to him talk about acting. It’s fine to enjoy his performances as wacky or over-the-top, but he’s just experimenting, with a really playful spirit. It’s like when you listen to really weird, ridiculous free jazz, and someone says “this is so pretentious, how can they be serious?” and…
I know it won’t happen, but if Cage wins an Oscar for “Pig,” I won’t complain.
I loved seeing Nicolas Cage opposite Meryl Streep in ‘Adaptation’. Talk about some intense thespian-on-thespian action!
I think Nic Cage has earned the right to be called whatever he damn well pleases.
Yeah, some movies can pull off the weariness/experience of immortality, but ETERNALS sure didn’t. A lot of vampire movies get the attitude right - behavior like what’s in ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE is more what I’d imagine would happen if people had power, time to build skills/hobbies, and no real goals.
My biggest problem with this movie: you never really believe these people are thousands of years old.
I see what ewe did there.
Good point but it is worth noting that valerian can interfere with prescription medication because of its medicinally-active alkaloids.
I gather hops have that effect, too (even outside of being in beer!). I had a bath product that contained valerian and hops and a hot bath with that bath oil guaranteed an awesome night’s sleep.
That’s the one that sounded most appealing to me. I don’t suppose you’re in Seattle?
She’s also intensely, INCREDIBLY funny. See her work in Peep Show, The Lobster, and The Favourite. Dark as hell, but literally laugh-out-loud hilarious.
Olivia Colman is so unbelievably good
