This fucking sucks. The credits/music opener alone was awesome. But I thought it had a lot of potential. Plus, Hot Nun!!

Still annoyed about Ghost Rider. Could’ve been a fun ride through Marvel’s horror properties.

i love peter serafinowicz!!!!!

The poster is still at the bus stop by my work. I've been noticing alot of entertainment ads that have been up for months.

That is absolutely what needs to happen. There needs to be a commercial with a dead celebrity talking about being dead and trying to sell you GEICO or whatever and then they need to play it every day for like ten years. Just repeat and repeat it until “wait, is this like that GEICO commercial?” becomes a common

Also the one episode where they claimed vaccines cause autism and make the lamest joke about how Asperger’s sounds like “Ass Burgers” and then make a dated Matrix parody?

I kinda liked it! It reminds me of Brimstone, another done in one show that probably only I liked. I do feel bad for the cast and crew involved, since it does feel like a forgone conclusion unrelated to the quality of the show.

I really hope we can try to keep using deepfakes for obvious-comedy-only. Videos like this are like training material that demonstrates the quality of the tech, so we’ll be less likely to be fooled when it is inevitably used maliciously.

wow, that is a shockingly good deepfake. Apart from the so-so voice, the video is nearly flawless.  The eyes, the moving mouth, wow.  You can’t tell me this wouldn’t fool the average Cult 45 member (especially if the message was more in line with what they expect to hear).  Perhaps something like this could be used to

Lovecraft Country was kind of a proper mess, but I think the three or four episodes that did work, worked really well. I think it deserved a spot on the list.

I haven’t seen all the shows on this list, so I won’t say my choices are better than yours.

Westworld completed its transformation from a pretentious, convoluted slog to a fifth-rate sci-fi production with a high budget that contains all of Jonathan Nolan’s weaknesses and none of the strengths seen in his other work”

Dave on FX was probably my favorite show this year. Surprised (actually not surprised) it wasn’t on this list.

For me, it was The New Pope, The Good Lord Bird, What We Do in the Shadows, Better Call Saul, and BoJack Horseman. 5 absolutely terrific shows. Also liked Raised By Wolves, Harley Quinn, The Great, Mrs. America, The Plot Against America, The Queen’s Gambit and the last third of Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ final season

Proud boys makes them sound like they just learned how to poop in the potty instead of their diaper, and I doubt that they have all mastered that skill yet.

T**** boasted that he could kill someone on NYC’s 5th Avenue and get away with it. Well, he has now murdered close to 300,000 people on Main Street. Getting away with it.

Alright, question time:  We have benny down here, out of the greys on a permanent basis, spreading trash, and yet we have a number of folks that have long been positive influences here at The Root being treated like the plague by The Root staff?  What’s the story?

The last harumph.

I’ll watch this, of course.  I love most of the cast (though the one cast member who doesn’t do much for me, unfortunately, is the lead).  But, not having read the books, there was just something lacking in Season 1 and I’m not sure what.  Maybe it felt too derivative?  Or it felt like it was lacking some sort of...
