Happiness is one of my top 5 favorite movies! Very dark and also hilarious and also Philip Seymour Hoffman is amazing (as per usual). I have it on DVD — it is sometimes on streaming, sometimes not.

I’m semi-looking forward to the review of First Kill — I thought it was awful, but the two leads were likeable and kept me from shutting it off.

Booooo my links were lost!  KINJAAAA!

The CFTC has been working to regulate crypto for 4+ years now — in 2017, the CFTC permitted two U.S. exchanges to list Bitcoin futures contracts and the previous head of the CFTC is a big supporter of blockchain and crypto.

He’s already in all the crossovers :D :D :D

Am I the only nerd out there who just wants a Marvel version of Harvey Birdman?? Gimme She-Hulk and Matt in a courtroom, Scarlet Witch on the stand, and a jury of peers.

DITTO! I actually look forward to watching it every week! I wonder if the viewing stats and critical reviews show a different reception than the comments section.

That’s so true — I have always felt uncomfortable with any kind of intimate touch (short hugs are okay, long hugs.... not so much) but I really cherish my deep friendships and I like putting effort into my friendships, so I’m probably putting more of my ace identity into Ed and Stede’s moment.

I want to star this post, but it’s sitting at 69 stars and that feels right.

OMG you read my mind! I was initially bummed that they kissed because they had such a deep friendship and I thought it was a perfect representation of ace companionship (I’m used to seeing a lot of deep friendships in media transform into sexual attraction). But reading how you describe it — as a expression of

It was Roswell, New Mexico! It was nice to have less angsty drama (e.g. no will-they-won’t-they; exes were still friends, etc) and I really liked the cast.  :( :( :( Fingers crossed someone else will pick it up, since Shiri Appleby was teased to be in the next season!

Fudge I’m so sad about the new Roswell, New Mexico — it was a fun show with less trope-y characters and a Shiri Appleby planned for next season! I also thought I just saw news that it was renewed a few weeks ago :(

I liked the Raimi-style, but felt like the story arcs were lacking.
I feel like if they could have leaned more into a True Grit -style of narrative, with Wong and Strange helping out America and keeping her safe from Wanda, with an arc more focused on Strange learning to care for others more than his own ambition.

I think that 2 people referred to Barry as just “having a bad day” — Natalie when trying to reassure Katie and Noho Hank when trying to reassure Batir. What does it say that Barry can get away with so much (and keep getting work) by dismissing it as “a bad day”?

I really enjoyed this show and I really like how casual all the queerness is — like it’s no big deal. It would be JACKPOT if they also included a deep friendship with an ace character.... maybe season 2??

It would be nice to see an ace character done well in live action (I liked how they treated Todd in Bojack

Did anyone else think that kiss was hella awkward?  Like, is Steven a bad kisser? Was Layla not feeling it after his comment about Marc?  I definitely cringed.

Agreed -- I think this writer hasn’t watched TV since 2003.

Oh thank god — I was concerned for your workload! Looks like you’ve got time before the next (and better?) draft is ready for review.

Given this writer’s reference to Buffy throughout the review (and no reference to the Jeff Lemire comics or the recent TV show Legion), I don’t think they’re a pop-culture (or recent TV) expert.
