This is one of my favorite movies for a few reasons — most of all, Jude Law is clearly having a BLAST playing a villain and it a joy to watch!

The score is FANTASTIC — I often listen to it while I’m working.  

Can we please start a sub-blog for analyzing humor??? One of my favorite articles breaks down SNL’s Haunted Elevator sketch (David S Pumpkins) and I genuinely enjoy reading the theory behind the humor.

Now I want this to be a TV show -- about a man who buys a ghost town and then starts making some ghost friends and they go on adventures together.  Some ghosts are friendly, some are terrifying.

Episode 1 is still so golden -- food library!  Even the song at the end, “Sewn back together wrong” is brilliant. 

P.s. Since I am an active participant in io9 and AV Club and I am not a troll, can someone pretty please un-grey me?

My favorite role of his is Bill Maplewood in Happiness — so dark but so funny. He does a brilliant job and I will watch anything with him in it.

Look --  I would watch Mr. Mercedes, it’s just that it’s impossible to find on one of the 8 streaming services I subscribe to........

Good to know -- I normally only watch Legends and Batwoman, but looks like I should check out Supergirl too (if I want to be less confused.....)

I am surprised he didn’t mention the way his mother was similarly treated by the press — some have blamed the press directly for her death. Agreed -- glad he stood up to the tabloids.

The action sequences remind me a lot of Upgrade, which was an amazing little movie

Having watched the show as background for reviewing this, I have to ask: Any other Jekyll-heads around??

LOVED this show! It was a slow burn full of deep characters and some killer magical realism — I hope Amazon, Netflix, or Hulu is able to pick it up.

Is it selfish if I want more than 10 episodes??  I was hoping for another 20-episode season...... maybe there will be a part 2 in the fall?

I was sad to realize that Netflix basically cut the season in half. I’m hoping that they do 10 more episodes in the fall, kind of like how they split the season of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina into 2 parts.
