It does, but another thread King is exploring is what drives a rational person to do irrational things. King really doesn’t make any bones about it: The Omega Men are terrorists. And King doesn’t justify their actions, but he does make it clear why they think these actions are acceptable.

I know nothing of the context beyond what this article has provided, but I do like that the central focus of the story seems to not be on the question of “Is it justified to sacrifice some for many?” - a question that there is no objectively correct answer to and thus one which can be used to avoid asking more…

I owned Hexen but never got particularly far (as a 10 year old I never grasped the hub very well). Heretic, I didn’t play until I was probably 16… and I totally adore it. I did a Let’s Play of the first campaign a few months ago at maximum difficulty if you want to bore yourself:

Honestly this sounds like fun to me.... I got bored of fallout as the only things that were difficult were just because they took a bajillion bullets to kill.
More damage both ways? yes please. Adrenaline perk that discourages sleeping? Hell yes, because i’ve only ever rested when I needed day/night changes for story.

Nah, they’ve tried to pass off the appropriation of other people’s ideas as their own before. I can’t find it, but Druckmann gave a long interview about how he came up with some scene in the Last of Us, when the reality is he just cribbed it from Jurassic Park. ND is big on pretention and not much for homage.
