Brussels Nose Dive

I’d be all over an EV M1 revival. I owned a i8 for 6 months, broke even. Been wanting a successor for the M1 for so long my hopes have gone from an insane mid-engine inline-6 to a full EV. I no longer have my E30 M3 or E39 M5 (couldn’t pass up the stupid prices people were paying post-covid) but I still long for that

BMW has historically been hilariously bad at doing halo cars - which doesn’t mean their halo cars were necessarily bad. It started with the 507, which was a flop compared to the SL. Next up the M1 that nobody wanted, then the 8 Series, the Z8, the i8 and now this thing. Of course all of the other cars have become

Chrysler Pacifica.

That’s what they said.

Good job Norway. Sticking it to the myth that EVs and cold weather aren’t compatible. I only personally have one friend who lives in Norway, and they do drive an EV!

it begs the question who does Trump think will buy these more expensive electric models?

Don’t worry, Putin and MBS will tell him how to feel about it once he’s in office.

You think merit is a factor for a position where there are 100k candidates? Um, ok...

Merit? Most corporate hires are based on personal connections.

Normal people don’t feel the need to advertise or market their decisions, so you don’t hear about it. It’s only these performative fools that make this much noise.

If only F1 was smart enough to check with you prior to making any driver changes!

Isn’t the real question, ‘who was running Tesla even before Musk decided to play politician?’

Daniel Ricciardo saw his end because he can’t drive these ground effect cars. McLaren wasn’t great in his time there but they (smartly) paid him millions to not drive the car. Then he got outclassed by Yuki, his less experienced teammate. Much as I think the RB driver churn system is untenable I don’t think you can

Tsunoda is so unpredictable, even after all these years. Actually reminds me a bit of Takuma Sato. Fast with plenty of incredible race craft actually, just so predictably unpredictable. Lawson is may be less experience and currently slower, but he may turn out to be a steadier bet.

Perez was tossed out because he’s the reason Redbull lost the constructors. Serious discrepancy in capability between the two drivers is essentially identical hardware.

As mentioned, Yuki was never going to get the seat, they know he will follow Honda to Aston Martin in 2026, so it would be a waste to give him the seat instead of a driver likely there for a longer time that can grow into the role.

Agreed, I mean you can’t blame Red Bull, they can’t invest just one year in that seat for a driver they are going to lose anyways. Yuki will likely follow Honda to Aston Martin anyways, so what’s the point.

I was going to trade my 2.0L Turbo for a V-6 but that motor killed the deal for me. It’s a slug. The only people that hate the 2.0L are the people that don’t have them.

I think it’s more to do with the 4cyl being turbo, doesnt matter the brand people just view them as an expensive item that will have to be replaced
