So let’s play along with Trump. We call “the authorities” on all troubled kids. Many innocent moody teenagers are harassed by cops and have their lives ruined, but let’s say that the cops had arrived at the home of this particular kid some time before this shooting happened.

The goal of building a football team isn’t to check off a box for each position and not think about it. It’s to use your limited resources to build the best team possible. And in that respect, using a first-round pick to draft a decent kicker is a colossal failure.

If I were omniscient, I’d still draft a ton of players over Janikowski. He’s been a slightly above-average kicker for the balance of his career, which isn’t that valuable.
