I think “romance” has very, very, very little to do with marriage.

Right, I never could wrap my head around those “power couple” types either— but they’re common enough, and they seem to make it work in the way that they like! Mutual respect + their usefulness for each other’s careers/politics/wealth/etc.

Word. They seem like they are intellectual soul mates more than anything. Norris Mailer confirmed this in her memoir. Bill would sleep with other women, but none of them could hold a candle to his connection to Hillary.

Most of the marriages I am aware of are not “romantic.”

A challenge as a spouse?

Eh, we had a nice run. It always felt like we were playing with house money.

I’m a left-leaning crackpot and my best male friend is a loopy Obama-blaming gun-lovin gay-marriage-hating wackadoodle.

Modestly guilty as well, I think it’s because we tend to look at “celebrities” through a very narrow window. There’s always a mainstream media slugfest over SCOTUS appointments, but by and large I bet, for both sides, they tend to be “good enough” choices where, on the bench, there’s a respect for one another’s

Oh, I know. Like I know beneath the wrong interpretations of the law he sounds like a pretty good friend.

So true. Once that sailed through, he knew he could get away with anything. And, he is. I keep saying that if by some horrible nightmare we end up with Pres. Trump, he’d better build walls on the southern border and the northern one too, because all the sane people will want to flee the country ASAP.

I know!!! He keeps saying awful things that make me think, “Well that’s got to be the end; no one can possible agree/ tolerate what he’s saying!” Then his numbers go UP.

If I had to guess, and I’m only speculating here, it was more of a “which side are you on?” sort of sizing-up. These people were amped, no doubt about it.

I had the “opportunity” to be in attendance at a recent Trump campaign rally. I am not surprised any of this happened. The wild-eyed, forehead vein popping, seething anger coming off of these people was beyond palpable. They were literally aching to argue or physically fight with someone - the aggression with which

It’s terrifying. Fuckface Von Clownstick there appeals to the lowest possible denominator and he’s capitalizing on it. The wilder things he says the more they gobble it up.

There's some truly scary shit happening in this country right now. The coming presidential election is so very important.

Tina Fey never impersonated a politician.

Unlucky, I think. It’s good to have evidence of douchbaggery in case of legal action. And it’s fun to watch idiots being idiots.

It could have been worse...you could have had a drunk frat boy demanding jalapeno mac & cheese

I like to think that too. He may be myopic on his white privilege (as most white people are), but he’s definitely not stupid. Maybe he’s standing by his flawed rethoric. Maybe he’s acknowledging it is dumb. Would be a lot worse if he pulled an Affleck and tried to keep it off the air.

What he said here is dumb, but that clip of him owning a cameraman over teaching wages was pretty solid.
