Oh man, that is so much better.
Oh man, that is so much better.
Now that’s a website we can all get behind!!
I posted elsewhere that I first read it as “Yark”, which would have been laughably awful.
Curiosity forced me to a website called popstartats.com (sigh), and it says “It is what it is”. The baby’s head is covering up the first “it is” in the picture.
When I saw Tyra’s announcement last night, I read it as Yark Banks Asla. So, the real name is not great (so many K sounds), at least it’s not YARK.
I don’t hate York as a name on its own, and even York Asla is not the worst. But the repeating K sound in York Banks just makes me cringe.
I was totally singing along with what you wrote until the very end, but then I had to go with, “Where IS she?”. I honestly never knew what the last few words were.
Holy cow, yes; the delivery and the lyrics. I also love how it bleeds in from Hamilton’s “fuuhhhhh”.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do that! I’ll admit, I had no idea, but on reflecting on your definition, it’s clear that all of my favorite Hamilton rhymes are of this sort.
I looked it up, because that was clearly a “let me google that for you” moment, and I realize now that that’s almost all of the rhymes :-)
I’m so proud that I can do that part of Angelica’s rap :-) And yes, definitely, it’s soooo clear that Alexander loves Angelica for her mind.
Hamilton thread!! Do you have a favorite rhyme that just blows you away every time? Mine is “tyranny/here and he”. Like, how??
We also have a stuffed otter, but we disagree on his name. So we each have a song we sing to the otter promoting our choice of name.
My boyfriend has given me half a dozen stuffed animals in the years we’ve been together. The first one, Bear, went with me to grad school just after we started dating, so we pretend that Bear is a cranky chain-smoker who loves me and hates my boyfriend.
.........Was that punctuation error on purpose for a joke? For a joke about proofreading?
Yeah, I really enjoyed the caption of “this kid sucks on his own sleeve,” like that somehow helps us understand his state of mind. Which, I guess, it does...
The link to the Des Moines Register includes a picture of someone holding a baby/fetus replica. The reason I’m not sure if it’s a baby or a fetus is because the caption reads, emphasis mine,“Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina looks on as Jenifer Bowen with Iowa Right to Life holds up an example of a 26-mon…
The show got sooo much better once they got over the Judy/Lionel and Jean/Alistair pairings.
There’s an author named Richard Paul Evans who writes similar but less schlocky romances, where there are conflicts other than people dying of cancer.
