Sure, that’s always the case. But for me (and, cough, god I’m old) my Blue Beetle was the Giffen/Maguire adult from that 80s run of Justice League, not an unsure kid, so. I haven’t a single clue what’s happened to the character since, so who better to have an opinion about what’s needed than me?

My concern about Blue Beetle is more just the sameness of it all. UNEXPECTED CRAZY POWERS! is not all that unusual a story these days, Hispanic or no.

And THIS would work as casting, IMO, not Reed.

I think it’s the reverse - I think Marvel is well-advised to stay away from Driver as Reed.  I know he’s a good actor and Marvel has a great track record for casting, but I think this would be a pretty bad miscast.
