Why all the hate for Doom? I don’t get it. Good characterisation, a ticking clock, monsters, a pretence at self-awareness (“we are the monsters!”), pseudo-science and a big boss battle to finish things off. Why does everyone rate this film so low?

“Bats aren’t rodents, Doctor.” And Val Kilmer wouldn’t lie to me. 

You mean they’re not doing this entire scene as a “play set”?
