I absolutely lost it at when she started singing Ave Maria as the Cookie Monster. I knew it was coming and that only made it funnier.

"I had a dream last night about a Crouton… and that was the end of the dream"
"Joni…I don't wanna lie to ya…so I'm not…there's shells all in these eggs"
Winston is a man after my own heart
Might be a top 5 episode right here. Everything worked here (even Iris' sideplot has me kind of intrigued).
There's been a upsetting lack of Salmon Ladder action in season 3
I don't know, I found the interactions between Michonne & Sasha and Darryl & Carol to be really good in the episode. Maybe I'm just too close to the show at this point, I don't know.
I agree that they've had dialogue issues throughout the show's run but I've honestly thought that they've done pretty good this year (especially in the first part of this season). Also overt symbolism tends not to bother me if it's effective, I feel like people too often think that everything needs to be super subtle.
I'm not really sure why you'd watch 5 seasons of a show like this if you didn't connect to any of the characters either. I guess it could be for the direction or grindhouse thrills but even that seems like a stretch.
I can respect that
What kept me from being unintentionally amused by the line was Lincoln's performance and the story that preceded. They got mileage out of a line that ultimately wouldn't have worked.
I can respect that. Stuff like this is pretty much entirely subjective at the end of the day.
You're welcome
If only Merle were still alive to make a wise-crack about Glenn being Korean
This was the type of episode of The Walking Dead that only really works if you're invested in the characters. If you don't find yourself particularly connected to them then I wouldn't be surprised if you found it to be a snooze, but as someone who legitimately cares about Team Ricktatorship I found it to be a strong…
It's one of the best examples of how fandom can hurt a show
I think it's less about Oliver thinking they're dumb (which I'm sure he doesn't) and more about him caring too much/being way to used to being a martyr. Despite the progress that he's made he still doesn't really know how to TRULY accept help which is a really hard practice to pick up when you've had a lone wolf…
Fair point. More than anything I was just advocating for Oliver because I understand where he's coming from. He just needs to learn to follow the old proverb "You can lead a horse to water but it's up to them to drink". He has a superman complex but a super hardened exterior so it often times makes his pure intentions…
I hadn't actually thought of it from that perspective. I can respect that point of view. I get where Oliver's coming from too though (especially since I'm the oldest brother in my family) and kind of take offense to him being called a dick. He may be coming at it from a somewhat archaic mindset but he wants to…
Amell's practically a master of nuanced acting at this point
