The CW probably would've been a better choice but honestly Constantine has no business being on network television period. No matter how solid the show has the potential of being it'd never be as good as it could be because it's got to adhere to stricter laws. It should've ended up on FX, AMC or even HBO if you ask me.

It's one of those shows who's rabid fandom and cult status have done it the disservice of keeping it on far past it's shelf life. I'm of the train of thought that most shows with a concrete narrative shouldn't go on more than 5 seasons and that anything afterward is just overindulgent. Had Supernatural ended after

I don't doubt that he'd be up to the task but to me he's a bit too pretty for Guy. I always saw someone a bit more rough around the edges and larger than life. John Cena comes to mind.

He wouldn't be my first choice for him but I definitely wouldn't be mad at that casting

Ackles is known as the talented guy who's always THIS close to landing a huge role. He was up for Cap, Star Lord, Hawkeye and even Batman at one point. I always remember him being one of (if not) the strongest points of Supernatural back when I watched it and it really chaps my ass that he has yet to land anything

Good point

Well this is definitely more of a personal affair where as HTGAWM is purely built around scandal and plot twists.

Agreed. By the way, you should also check out Sleepy Hollow if you haven't already. It's got a black leading lady and she fantastic.

It's because sadly, more times than not we tackle the same subjects in the same way. You'll seldom see a black helmed project that doesn't sit in the safe zone of comedy and drama. I'd LOVE to see more black helmed sci-fi (because I loved The Book of Eli) or a fantasy project.

Yeah I've also pretty much given up on most "black" television because it's shown too often that it's only really interested in catering to a very specific cross section of our culture. It's because of that that Black-ish is refreshing due to it being able to be unabashedly black without it being alienating. Kind of

Fair point. I just kind of wish that they would've went the Kanye route so it'd make Hakeem's claim to the throne seem more valid. Like he's just as genius on a musical level as Jamal (maybe even more so).

Yeah the "ooh he's trouble because he married a white girl" cliche is the one that I'm most tired of as well and it really doesn't help that she's seemingly just with him for his possible stake in the company.

Okay I get where you're coming from a bit more now. Honestly I don't really bother with BET movies and I lowkey forgot that Oprah had her own network so I can't really say anything about the material there. I do agree that it would've been cool to see some role reversal as far as Jamal being the more outspoken one and

Yeah I'm STILL salty about it getting cancelled right as it seemed to be catching steam. It's a shame that it didn't have much viewership because a lot of people missed out.

I wouldn't say it's dumb, it's all subjective. Do you bruh.

Lol really? DVR basically allows you to record shows

If they've got DVR they don't have to choose at all

Yeah I found that whole scene pretty laughable too. I also agree with the lyrical content. I wouldn't really mind it if they weren't trying to pass it off as "genius". I kind of wish they were going more Kanye and less Tyga with Hakeem. While the actors are so-so, I do like the bond that Jamal & Hakeem have. They seem

I honestly don't have a whole lot that are springing to mind at the moment but Kaldrick from The LA Complex is one. I don't watch Glee but I do watch Modern Family and I think it's unfair to compare those portrayals to this because they're totally different shows in totally different settings. What makes Jamal being

I actually don't see how it's more typical than Hakeem the angry, overcompensating rapper being the one who was gay. I don't know about you but more times than not I've seen the hardcore, tough characters turn out to be gay in modern media so it's actually refreshing to see the more lowkey character be gay. To me it
