to be honest, at $31k the Honda accord makes much more sense, it’s a bomb-proof, reliable, comfortable car, albeit, a little non-exciting to drive.

The problem that i’ve always had with Nissan, is that they profit with this car like crazy, in an (unfortunably unquotable) interview to their Mexico Sales director on why it was still sold, his reply was: we know it’s unsafe, but we’ll continue to sell it.
The L200 has been sold since forever in Mexico, they are pretty expensive maintenance wise, and the price of the truck is what a full-size regular cab costs. The Hilux completely demolishes it in sales.

Another issue that David doesn’t mention is suspension travel, most full-size trucks have at average 4" of up/down travel, which is simply not enough for even light off-roading. Their leaf suspensions are also designed to carry weight in them (and a lot of it for that matter), so it simply doesn’t flex when…

You can see a lot of this on Mexico’s highways (specially going from south to north of the country). The seat is just a wooden box over here and the driver is usually wearing a cheap motorcycle helmet.
i usually rent cars for one or two weeks in a row, the first thing i do when i sit in it, is connect my phone, and the thing i always do the night before i have to deliver is to simply delete everything. This is just common sense really.
