Haven't looked at the list yet, but I expect it to be well populated with prog rock.

where is Karrn Evil #9 by Emerson, Lake, & Palmer?
And another thing: Monty Python, The Universe Song
No love for Gustav Holst? Philip Glass? Or only rock composers need apply?
Special Mention regarding # 86: The entirety of both Demanufacture & its follow-up, Obsolete, were sci-fi concept albums telling the story of a man's struggles against a machine-controlled government. The story is actually fleshed out a lot more in Obsolete....actually now that I think about it, everything Fear…
Another Arjen Lucassen project worth mentioning: Star One.
You forgot "Deeper Understanding" by Kate Bush:
How come this band was left out entirely?
I am seriously distressed at the omission of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's 'Karn Evil 9'. No, the fact that it's 30 minutes long is no excuse. I mean, the bloody album cover was done by H.R. Giger in his pre-Alien days! How much more sci-fi can you get?
You cant include everything, of course, but i was still a little disappointed not to see any track from Gamma Ray's 'Somewhere Out in Space'. Maybe the best power metal album of all time, the whole album is a story about space travel and ancient prophecies, with some reference to egyptian mythology. I personally love…
(I may have missed them but ... ) No representation for any King Crimson or Hawkwind (or - a longshot - Lenny White's "The Adventures of Astral Pirates")?
YESSS! ZILTOID IS AWESOME!
Olias fanboy here... so sweet to see it represented.
Regarding Rush's "Cygnus X-1" from the album "A Farewell To Kings", it was only Book 1... and entire side of "Hemispheres" completed the story!
This list is fantastic! I love the diversity across genres. Nice Rush choices, too!
I was quite happy to see Tubeway Army/Gary Numan's "Down in the Park." Personally I'd have to cheat and put the entire Replicas album on the list! "Are 'Friends' Electric?," "Praying to the Aliens," "I Nearly Married a Human," etc.
One of my favourite songs of all time - massively underrated album - and with a sci-fi track and album cover!
Sample lyrics:
Skies going through another change
Bright yellow skies looking so strange
We're never going home
A million souls alone with
Five moons in the sky
Shocked that Starship Trooper by Yes was omitted. The Wurm section is pure magic:
I was really happy to see Ayreon make it on to the list! Of course, there's some other amazing bands missing, like Keldian, Star One and Celldweller! Lots of all-around awesome sci-fi music to be heard.
I Robot -Alan Parson Project (1977)
Just gonna leave this here...
