As a ‘Strayan: To summarise, South Australia is still South Australia.

So much CP. I might touch this thing, but only if I was assured a full chemical sterilisation afterwards.
I’m not aware of a DSG in production that can handle the rated 750nm of torque, let alone the 800+nm that the 4.0T motor makes in real-world conditions.
An APR dyno put it closer to 650. These things are majorly underrated from the factory.
Those RS6/7 cars are underrated big-time. They’re generally tested as being good for a smudge over 3s. Meanwhile, GTRs are pretty badly overrated.
8-speed torque converter automatic. Lightning-fast shifts, though.
Doesn’t surprise me all that much. Those cars are monsters, plain and simple. Their off-the-line torque is mind-bending.
C’mon, Audi. I want to love you, but you make it so hard...
This was an amazing goddamn article. Bravo, Alanis!
Looks like they’ve been heavily-influenced by the R18. Does anyone know if Audi Sport’s engineers defected to Porsche after the Le Mans team was disbanded?
#COTD
Interestingly, these are more or less the exact same times that are being reported from lightly-tuned (exhaust+ECU) Audi RS6/7s.
I actually saw this happen; an X3's tyre came off and hit my car. No damage, thankfully.
OH GOD WHAT IS THAT
We must now make offerings of immensely-overpriced option lists to please the gods of Porsche. It is the only way.
May or may not be a question you can answer, but how does it compare relative to its rivals? E.g., how does one of these stack up against, say, an APR RS3?
This is a thing of fucking beauty.
The RS7 is generally a much more extreme car; the S8 is Audi’s S-Class AMG competitor. Anything with RS in the name tends to be designed very much for extreme performance, often at the expense of comfort. Anyone who’s driven in an RS7 with DRC (as I have) will verify this.
Excellent point.
You’re correct, but that doesn’t change the facts - the RS7 Performance puts down an absurd amount of wheel horsepower, regardless of drivetrain loss. In fact, if the Giulia only makes 341HP at the wheels (assuming 15% drivetrain loss), then the RS7 is making nearly 50% more power at the wheels. That’s a huge…
