Adding Tunes is the easy thing to do on that car.
overrated. It loses it’s charm, quickly
EFI isn’t hard, get the 4bbl intake and put a Holley Sniper on it.
On a VW you should have done it _much_ more often than that.
The normally shitty Chrysler QC was even worse in the mid ‘70s to the ‘80s, and the emission controls really was not done well, so ran like crap and got worse MPGs than the pre-’74 units. Don’t get me wrong, a well tuned engine pollutes less, and that a very good thing.
The ‘newer’ distributor curve is likey to work better with todays 87 octane gas, than the ‘65 unit, but too lazy to dig out my old Motors book to see for sure. Pertronix is OK, but I like OEM so if it does die on you, and parts place will have the bits
Old car for daily driver in winter, that’s fine. Done it myself
