Rescuing anything from the trash, then restoring it into working condition comes with its own incalculable value. The joy and self-esteem gained from seeing that supposedly worthless item, now fully functioning in your home, can’t be measured in any currency. 

It all depends on where, Eleanor - we can’t expect that it’s going to hit Siberian Forest again. Most likely to hit in an ocean, so that’s going to be unpleasant for the people who have to deal with that huge tidal wave. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone and I’m sure that you don’t either.
