I watched a Jacques Pepin show where he was cooking lobster and he said in order to kill one you should first put it in the freezer (alive) for a few minutes and then kill it with a knife to the head just before putting it in the boiling water. I used that method the next time I cooked lobster and it was, at the time,

Caitlin Doughty is the best. Her books are great.

And as far as for at the time of the movie goes, 1995 for most was not even “early internet” it was “what the hell is the internet?” days.

I regularly visit a women’s fitness subreddit, and it blows my mind how many men show up to offer “advice” on topics they have absolutely no authority on, such as sports bras, birth control, etc. It is just as exhausting when it happens there as it is on Jezebel.

Maybe instead of posting on every single article here they could join me over in the male dominated spaces like reddit where I’m trying to convince young men who are only hearing MRA propaganda that women aren’t their enemy. That might be a lot more helpful than cluttering up a woman’s interest site with things

Presumably one still transports and stores them live, they’re just stunned or killed immediately before boiling.

They are not allies. They are terry takeovers. They drown. They smother.

Juju and mortal

Yes, that’s always bothered me but I have been , as a grey, reluctant to mention. Thanks for doing so.

And let’s not leave out all the enabling dinguses who are constantly fawning over these guys and boosting their comments.

But it does though. Have you not been paying attention? Hell, did you not read the article you just commented on? Women are just beginning to grasp the level at which we’ve been systematically been abused, excluded and denied career opportunities due to our gender. The last thing we need are a bunch of male hot takes,

This has been a continuous conversation for several months now. You can jump to defense if you want, but you have no context for the conversation so you’re adding nothing. Also, jujy is an attention whore who just always has to be there to flaunt his allies cred. On a site explicitly created for women, that’s annoying

Yep! It’s pretty tiresome. And even when they have a good point to make, I promise if they wait five minutes a woman will come along and make it.

It’s not unusual for the top four or five comments to be from this tiresome pack of dudes who seem to think their banal opinions are absolutely indispensable.

This upcoming generation of black girls is just amazing. They really make me worry less. But they shouldn’t have to be this savvy, this ‘on,’ and this resilient all the damn time.

And, as ever, the top two comments are from men who comment early and on absolutely everything.

“Oh no, not James Franco too,” said No One Ever.

I think about it like the song “Common People” by Pulp, maybe she puts work in, but you’re extremely wealthy and if you fail you’ll be fine. Some of these other models came from nothing and rose to fame by themselves with nothing to fall back on. So no she is not like them.

“I’m wearing this ring that Jack gave me and I’ll always wear it, because love is a really cool, powerful, eternal thing and it doesn’t have to be defined the way we in Western culture define it as beginnings and ends.”

Wow. Could they make “MAN” any bigger in that photo caption? It’s like they heard that there were women using their own voices and they just...panicked.
