But Smile was…. ok?

Fair enough XD.

That would've taken more time.

I loved Turlough. Though the idea could've been executed better.

Maybe she sees "her" Doctor regenerate and decides she's had enough. But that still leaves Me with a TARDIS.

I rationalised it as the engine emitting too much heat and so it was isolated and over the fans to keep it cool.

I think they knew trying to keep him on Earth by force would not really work and would be more troublesome than it's worth so they gave him some leeway in the "UNLESS THERE'S AN EMERGENCY" part. So the Doctor doesn't waste time trying to break free and focuses of the task at hand.

What about Heaven Sent?

I meant to change that and it slipped my mind.

He did just kill the general, steal another TARDIS and then lost it and mess with a fixed death he was specifically told would have consequences.

I think Nardole works because he's more of an assistant than a companion, he already knows about the universe and frankly doesn't seem all that keen to see more of it so their relationship itself is different, but who knows. And also, it must be good to have someone to whom you don't have to pretend for 50 years.

About the vault.

I think the Doctor getting over Clara quickly was the whole conceit of his having his memory wiped, so this some small callback is the right amount of Clara in this new chapter, if you ask me.

I wish they would've kept the John Simm return a secret until this episode aired so that we could've all had a collective HOLY CRAP! moment like John Hurt appearing at the end of tNotD.

I I had the same thought.

Don't say you'll miss him until we get a season finale that isn't a huge letdown from the previous episode.

Him and everyone else. But if he hasn't actually learned that less plot points can actually be a good thing I don't think more time has changed anything.

I really hope this belongs to said half, then.

At this point, Heaven Sent may have earned her a few brownies. That said, I think her direction was very much part of what made Hell Bent the mess it was. I actually think the script works better than the end result.
Same with DW and DIH. First half superbly crafted, second part a pacing mess.

I think we can all agree at this point UNIT soldiers are just dolls waiting to be killed. I mean, they just stood there as she rambled. At that point SOMEONE should've realised it didn't make sense.
I just hope third time's the charm when it comes to Moffat's Capaldi series finales.
