"And all of The Monkees did have singing and/or musical abilities, even if for many years many studio musicians were used. So to use them as your prime defense just doesn't cut it at all."
ahhh Beatles fans, the frontrunners of music fandom.
So because the words "boy" and "band" are not used together, that means that using a mix of songwriters, producers, record companies, session musicians and attractive faces to tour and sell the record in the 60s is nothing like using a mix of songwriters, producers, record companies, session musicians and attractive…
Split those hairs, if it makes you feel better. the Buddah records catalog, for example, is chock full of manufactured bands of cute boys like 1910 Fruitgum Company and Kastenetz- Katz. It was called bubblegum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…
Wut? tons of boy bands in the 60's, the Monkees are a great example, or the Box Tops.
yeah went from being so-so in the original MST3k to being one of the best things about CT.
Don't worry about it.
I find it more Gillaim-esque. It is a close relative to Brazil in particular.
unabashedly love this film and the Riff Trax for it is funny as hell too.
please, can I introduce you to the Washington DC football team? They were doing swinging gates YEARS ago. They've moved on to deliberately destroying QBs!
Well that kinda sux. Other Space just got better and better as the season went on.
Surprised the Hendrix LA Forum show isn't here. The Husker Du Spin radio concert is a sorta classic boot from the 80s.
in that vein, I Got The Blues is a low point.
All the music sounds terrible. Paul McCartney was a musical highlight? The Tallest Man on Earth got divorced? It all sounds as much fun as a tire fire.
Man, this sounds like a freakin' nightmare.
The Sting is one of the greatest episodes of any TV show ever. I mist up just thinking about it.
So we're supposed to think he's wrong here? Cuz he's not.
It seems to me that if you weren't pretty far up the indie rock food chain, Kurt didn't have time for you and he seemed perpetually annoyed. Buzz was blunt and funny and loves arguing about stuff. Probably pretty fun to hang out with.
I met him and he was far from nice. Dave and Krist were friendly, tho. As was Buzz Osbourne, holding forth standing at the back of his van after a show.
