My two most frustrating email situations are both caused by not understanding the role of asynchronous business communications:

So that’s actually at the heart of the matter. GM made the near-disastrous decision to overweight trucks and SUVs for the North American market.

The U.S. may be the second largest market, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the world follows U.S. trends. If it did, then China (#1 market) and Western Europe (#3) would have followed the road of over-sized trucks and SUVs.

This is an interesting point - everyone always (I know) says they’d gladly pay extra, but when consumers vote with their wallets, they support low-cost carriers and then complain about the cramped seats, lack of amenities, and the fees.

Let each passenger pay for what they use and nothing more

Yeah, we have a different cultural mindset here in the U.S., but there’s still plenty of “I’m smarter than you therefore I rule you” to go around.
