As someone who watched a buddy lose the outside of his left foot from jumping on and off trains, and as someone who almost lost an arm doing the same thing, I have to assume that the reward is worth the risk(?). Moving trains are freaking dangerous; even when they’re going slow.

This is correct and I what I was trying to say is that if someone where to buy an EV that qualifies for the $7500 that individuals tax status may preclude them from the credit, whereas on a lease they would likely still get it as an up front cap cost reduction

However, most EVs still can get the $7500 credit if they are leased, and customers get this discount regardless of their filing status.

1. Because the current GX is the last V8 they put in passenger cars. Everywhere else they use a V8, they’ve already switched to the 3.4L TTV6 in this new GX. Yes, it’s about their CAFE numbers.

Something something emissions something something.

If it’s still going to have terrible gas mileage, why not go with the tried and true V8?

Greater adoption isn’t going to make the grid unreliable, but it will change how our power is produced and delivered.

I don’t believe Tesla ever had the reliability issues that plague the other providers.  So to claim it’s simply because they got a head start is false.

Tesla is 5 years ahead of all other charging networks BECAUSE they started 5 years earlier. They also have the advantage of building their own chargers to work with their own cars.

It’s not just EA’s, it’s everyones

Simply whipping out a debit or credit card to charge your car is another problem that’s not being addressed, mostly because you can’t just simply do that.

Had a rental Hyundai EV6 (Great car BTW) - Went to an Electrify location with multiple high output chargers. Could NOT get two of them to work at all - on sync to the car it would get some error code. The 3RD charger worked fine - had no issues and high rate of charging. The first 2 chargers had no errors afterwards -

Gas stations are tied to a mini-mart because they don’t actually profit on gas. They normally have about a 3 cent mark-up per gallon, which doesn’t even cover the cost of keeping the lights on.

I was unaware that Electrify America was part of Volkswagen’s detention. The fact that these stations do not work makes a lot more sense now - just as how the penmanship for when they had to write “I will not cheat on diesel emissions” 100 times was somewhat subpar.

my test driving coworkers say it sucks. I hear alot of “this charger doesn’t work”, there’s like 50 people at XYZ and takes forever, the ones that do work are slow. The manufacturer installed some chargers themselves at home base just in case they need to dip back to charge from the route. I’ll stick with test driving

Haha, want to see VW make a reporting app that says its always up and working, just not being used so they can get their tax refund to 100%. I’m jsut wondering, cause if they can make their cars cheat emissions tests, what do you expect to happen here?

In the future any kind of tax rebate etc has to be tied to up time performance.

I’ve only used a non-Tesla DCFC once, in Los Angeles, and the first plug I tried didn’t work, so I had to move over a stall.

Pretty much any non-Tesla charger is a gamble.

We need so much more scrutiny over elderly drivers. A few days ago an elderly man got confused in our community cul-de-sac and drove through my neighbors front yard into their backyard, getting stuck in the deep snow. The police said they did not suspect intoxication, just a confused old man. Its good he got stuck in
