The best thing about that video is seeing all the vehicles that were common back then and aren’t common now.

“In Canada, it was absorbed into the Dodge lineup and weirdly renamed the Dodge SX 2.0.”
+1
To me this is more of a $2000 vehicle... mainly due to the mileage. A Euro car like this can get expensive to own once the mileage is at this level. Plus the slushbox also reduces the value as well. If it was a manual one, then I’d value it at $2500.
1st Gear: “Biden faces increasing pressure from auto unions and car makers across the U.S., who have increasingly warned that a quick switch to EVs could cost jobs.”
“You are incredibly naive if you don’t think automakers are going to figure out how to keep battery repair/replacement for themselves”
“ And I have helped a friend fix the battery in an old Prius. Going forward with tomorrows? Good luck.”
Yup... and you already lost that bet. Rich Rebuilds, Hoovie’s garage and other places like Shift Motors and others have already done it.
DRM won’t stop a company from replacing modules in a pack that need replacing.
Yeah that’s what I said when I saw it.
Well in my area, here are some BEV/Hybrid repair specialists... such as “Doctor Battery” near me:
“This is the primary thing, people seem to forget Tesla burned 10's of billions or more before it got to the point of making any profit at all.”
I’m primarily talking about Gross Profit while you’re talking about Net Profit
“ How much of that 30K bill do you honestly think is dealer markup”
All the Big 3 had to do to avoid losing money on BEVs is simply follow the Tesla playbook... start with something high end, high margin, low volume... something like a high end Cadillac or Lincoln model or two. Then with the experience gained there, figure out ways to take the cost out of the design as well as…
You don’t need to brace yourself. You need to find an independent specialist for any out-of-warranty work. The problem here is dealership price gouging.
“ it appears as though dealers across the nation are slapping i3 owners with huge repair bills.”
If the PPI checks out, then this is a solid NP. And this also has a growing novelty factor as well as being practical and nice to drive.
