And that’s typical of all these stupid gendered ‘pay gap’ bullshit studies that don’t correct for the job being done or the hours put in.

“The survey showed that 82 percent of men polled were in manager/owner positions, while just 56 percent of women polled were in that category, despite women polling much higher in terms of education. Women polled were skewed much higher toward “administration” positions than men, as 34 percent of women worked admin…
Well if there is no power in the lines like during the major power outage in 2003:
In the hands of the typical driver, the extra power doesn’t help. Plus lower spec models have non-performance-car tire sizes with more sidewall... which is actually better for snow.
“I’m a Jets fan.”
1st Gear: If you want to make a long term investment in BEVs/automotive, this is actually a good time. And the companies I would pick would be BYD, Tesla and Rivian.
I would not recommend a single one of these to anyone asking me to recommend the best winter vehicle.
I give this a NP on the condition that nothing major shows up on the PPI... specifically checking for the panel gaps around the driver door and around the rear bumper. The reason for the gaps might be minor or it might be major. But if it’s minor, than this can be a great deal. And I like the colour.
Regardless of why it happened, it still happened over a larger geographic area... more than once.
And most of the time, winter doesn’t pose a problem for most BEVs at most chargers. But outages do happen from time to time just like they happen at gas stations.
I live in Toronto. The winters here are comparable to the winters there. And yet, the proliferation of SUVs isn’t to the same extent as in Atlanta.
Maaaybe. But sometimes even the best vehicle with the best tires can’t save a driver from being an idiot.
“it _sounds_ as if you’re such a fanboy of RWD, that you’re desperate to assert that stance whenever possible”
I can’t remember exactly where the studies were done... but I can tell you the net effect... which is regulators in the EU not treating PHEVs as favorably.
I would say that when it gets cold, tow truck drivers get busy with or without Teslas for a variety of reasons because cold weather is hard on all vehicles.
“Key difference being those pumps can service 20 -30 cars per hour, while the charger can support 1-3.”
Good to know. I’ve heard that police agencies liked their Dodge Chargers. What is your view on them and how they compared to the Crown Vic?
AWD does not help you stop or turn in any meaningful way. And actually when it comes to handling, depending on which vehicle, it could actually be WORSE due to the added weight and higher center of gravity.
“And none of those things occur yearly like winter.”
When I was in the suburbs of Atlanta (as one example) it sure seemed that way.
