Completely agree. Had the same reaction you did. It was one of the few moments that felt forced, artificial in an otherwise really enjoyable movie that I saw 6 times in theaters. So to be clear I think i’m on record as enjoying the hell out of that movie and the new generation of actors it introduced.

I think the root of the problem is how visceral the original sounds. You can feel it in your gut. Whenever it happened on screen it would start deep inside you and you could almost feel the power flow from you through Goku.
