I know the 1M is a cult classic but I just don't see the point of paying top dollar for one now that the M2 is coming out. The M2 uses the same formula but will be an improvement in almost every single way.

It's worse than that. Dropping engines for regular maintenance is common to most Ferraris. This one had some "extra" stuff you had to do to keep it running. The 348 and F355 are supposed to be nightmares. The 328 that preceded them was a much simpler car that was easier to maintain and didn't need as many repairs. And…

This is true. I got a one year old 997.2 C2 4 years ago. I should have got a 14 year old (at the time) F355. Because I've since driven F cars with gated shifters and they are sooooo much more fun than a C2.
