I don’t really get Rivian’s strategy. They announced the truck in 2017 and it’s still not to market yet, and it seems like most of their cash is coming from vans and licensing their platform. Are the consumer vehicles just for press at this point?

Side hustle culture gonna kill our whole generation.
I’m not crazy about the overall shape but otherwise it looks nice and ticks a lot of the right boxes. Kudos to Honda for making something that almost certainly won’t sell worth a damn. Hope I’m wrong though, it sure would be nice to return to a world where you can see around the car in front of you.
If by funky you mean ugly and terrible in all aspects, might I suggest a Chevy Spark or Mitsubishi Mirage?
Honda now making the best looking 3-series
This is the most jalop shit ever. “We bought a house. Money’s tight. Tons of work to do. Guess we’ve got no choice but to buy a 30 year old project car!”
New interior is better, new front end is way worse. Looks like a 10 year old Hyundai.
If you want to give him a Bronco, give him a Bronco. Just make it a beat to shit 5th gen.
HOW MANY DANK WHOOLIES CAN IT DO??!?!
Ford just killing it lately.
Holy shit a buying advice piece without a bunch of joke recommendations? Am I in bizarro world?
They can afford to treat people better, but it’s neither required nor profitable, so they don’t. If there was ever a whiff of morality in capitalism, it has been fully purged by now.
Got one of these for oil changes on my old F650GS. Because BMW, so it’s got a dry sump and the top tank is behind a fairing and held on by a dozen screws and a bunch of plastic spacers prone to disintegration.
It really is too perfect.
Is Mercedes Streeter a nom de plume or were you just destined for automotive journalism?
Is this thing going to be available to retail customers too because I like it way better than the XLT version?
IMO this is what the Rivian should have been. Just a good pickup that takes advantage of the form factor to pack in a big ol’ battery. Interested to see what you lose on the “commercial oriented” version because that is sounding like one hell of a deal.
None of them. They all provide a service that they know is borderline necessity for modern life so they generally do the bare minimum required to provide that service and maybe wring a few extra bucks out of you while you’re trapped there. Everything is beat to shit and barely functional, except the screen blaring ads…
I kinda regret getting rid of my 280zx because it was a gorgeous car but it wasn’t actually that fun to drive but the miles were so low I felt obligated to keep it stock.
Right? We’d be buying interesting colors if we could.
