He's not one-dimensional. He's just an American. He doesn't want peace. He wants to win.

Well, I think he's just a classic narcissist with a messiah complex. He is high intelligent, but he willfully sees the world as he needs to see it to justify his own perceived greatness.
Why, it's almost as if entitled, self-satisfied humans with a messiah complex don't always think too good.
I just don't see that. I'm not a Cavaliers fan. But guess who I was rooting for in the finals? If the Denver Nuggets were in the finals, I'd have rooted for them, since they're "my" team. But that's not "exclusionary." That's just part of being a sports fan and having a vested interest in one side of the story over…
You cannot not indulge in it. You're doing it right now by pitting yourself against "them" the sports fans. They are not your tribe, so you feel free to criticize their way of life.
Last time I went to the Denver Comiccon, there was a guy with teardrop and other gang tattoos walking around in Spiderman pajamas. I don't think "geekdom" in and of itself is creating the scorn it used to.
Same could be said for pop culture. A good GoT finale isn't going to solve anything. It doesn't stop people from enjoying it. And it shouldn't.
Primate tribalism is an inherent aspect of our species. It's much better to get those needs met through a game of basketball than through divisive politics or nationalism.
Same thing can be said about Marvel films. Doesn't make it right.
This sums it up.
So then the citizens should vote against doing so and any politician who attempts to do so.
Does your state give tax breaks in an attempt to lure movie studios to film in your state?
There's a shitty side to sports. There's also a shitty side to all of the pop culture you consume.
I'm sorry, but that's like saying Godzilla was detrimental toward discussion we should've been having about nuclear proliferation.
Poor Martha.
I actually enjoy all those films, but The Shadow is legitimately a kick-ass time. There's a part of me that hopes Hollywood delves into the 1930s-era pulp section again, but then I know they'll probably just do "dark and gritty" updates that will suck all the fun out of them.
I agree 100 percent. My post was simply an observation. But you're right on, I think.
Sure. That too. Why not?
Agreed totally. I really don't think he knows what his movies are about.
I agree. He comes across as a completely different dude in every interview I read of him. Sometimes he's trying to position himself as "just a guy making movies" which is categorically untrue, because his movies obviously do have these deeper levels of functioning. Then you get these interviews where he's trying to…
