Yeah, you can't give out any of his fiction to people for "cold" readings. You'd see most people a week or two later and they'd ask, "What the hell is this shit?!" and then they wouldn't talk to you again and they'd tell all your mutual friends how weird you are. I'm not even talking about Infinite Jest, which would

Dude is far from the savior. But tell me how he isn't one of the greatest lyricists eva….Dude caught a bad couple of breaks.

Shit, look at all those albums I listed. I'll be surprised if that's the only typo.

Jay-Z is more consistent. There's no denying that. He's certainly got a good ear for the kind of beats that are going to get a lot of play.

Reasonable Doubt is a better album, but what is its impact? What did it change? If anything, it was a really good (better than most) take on the mafioso motif that had taken hold after Cuban Linx. But to me a "Classic" has to do one of two things. Either it has to change the game or it is has to be of such

I do. When they're done well. That sped-up soul singing became overbearing after everybody started doing it.

I would agree with your implication that none of them are really "classics." Reasonable Doubt came closest, but it's just a :"really good rap record." The Black Album is pretty decent. I don't actually like The Blueprint (other than The Takeover, which is his greatest song), but I try to be diplomatic. People always

Also glad to see someone else likes "Hey Nas" which is usually shat upon.

I think God'S Son and Stillmatic are better than anything Jay-Z has ever put out, but I'm kind of a Nas fanboy.

I hope all those rolling things and cutting things remembered to wash their hands….

I think Hard Knock Life is one of his worst albums. It hasn't aged well at all. I'm not a Jay-Z fan, but Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and The Black Album are definitely his best records.

Life is Good is as well. It's the most mature/adult hip-hop album I've ever heard. Some people might think that maturity and hip hop don't mix, but after listening to members of the Wu-Tang-Clan pretend it's 1995 for the past 10 years, I've gotta say that knowing that some rappers can age gracefully is reassuring for

1. Miller's Crossing
2. Big Lebowski
3. True Grit
4. Fargo
5. Barton Fink
6. The Man Who Wasn't There
7. A Serious Man
8. O Brother
9. Raising Arizona
10. No Country
12. Blood Simple
11. Intolerable Cruelty
12. Hudsucker Proxy
13. Ladykillers

The correct answer is Burn After Reading. Intolerable Cruelty is nowhere near as bad as some people say.

Worst Coen Bros. movie by far. It's literally their only film I didn't like.

Bending Steel?

I'm sure it works to some extant. Is it the most effective manner? My guess is probably not for most people, but it makes for more interesting TV than my approach would.

If it worked more often, maybe more people would join the military. Let's not confuse "survivor bias" with "efficacy."

You're just watching the wrong kind.

There's a lot of weird things going on the show. If a trainer yelled at me in real life I'd probably walk out and find one who didn't yell at people.
